About the book

+
"Dance as if you were the most beautiful dancer in the world and as if all those people came just to see you."

These are the words Eloïse Leroy grew up with, the advice she tried to put into practice every day when she stepped onto the stage to delight thousands of spectators, from the age of five until now, as a star dancer at the Paris Opera. But the glory of a ballerina is like a comet: explosive, fleeting, momentary. As she approaches the age of thirty-five, Eloïse is preparing to embark on a new chapter in her career within the world of contemporary ballet, stepping into the role of artistic director of the theater.

Praised by critics, adored by colleagues and choreographers, and loved by the audience, it seems that nothing and no one can dethrone her from her pedestal. Yet, what happens just before the final interview to confirm her new role will forever change her life and force her to reconsider her priorities.

With elegance, depth, and sensitivity, Sweta Tagliabue tells a story of ambition, introspection, and love, exploring how fate leads humans to part ways and reunite, betray each other while still loving, hurt and sacrifice for one another.
